Zambia Offers to Assist Nigeria in Fighting Physical and Spiritual Insecurity.
Dr. Solomon Samuel, the Zambian High Commissioner in Nigeria, has raised alarm over the country’s security condition.
The envoy, speaking ahead of the International Peace Concert scheduled for Saturday in Abuja, stressed his country’s readiness to aid Nigeria in combating terrorism and banditry.
Recalling Nigeria’s involvement in liberating Zambia and other southern African countries from apartheid, Samuel stated that Zambia was eager to collaborate with Nigeria in the training of security personnel to combat insecurity in the country.
According to him, singing groups from Nigeria and Ghana would perform at the ‘Hope in Troubled Times’ performance to ask divine intervention in tackling security concerns.
He continued, saying:
“The Seventh-day Adventist Church has devised an ingenious means of promoting peace.” Zambia would want to associate with the Adventist Church in this way. Because our brothers and sisters in Nigeria are dealing with insecurity, Zambia cannot sit back and watch them face terrorist acts.”
