The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested two suspects on suspicion of raping a 15-year-old deaf girl in the state’s Obi Local Government District.
Command spokesman DSP Ramhan Nansel said in a statement on Friday, March 10, that the suspects Aminu Hashimu, 24, and Lukman Dogara, 18, lured the victim into their home and raped her.

The suspect was tracked down and arrested in Obi and Lafia in his LGA where they were hiding, according to PPRO.
“At approximately 6:30 pm on February 3, 2023, a complaint was filed with the Obi Division that Aminu Hashim, 24, and his 18-year-old Rukmundalla were male residents of Oworosho Road, Obi LGA, Nasarawa State. conspired to criminally rape a 15-year-old teenager,” the statement said.
“After receiving the report, police officers from the Obi Division began investigating and searching for the suspect. As a result, the above suspects were arrested on March 3, 2023 at various locations in the cities of Ob and Rafia, respectively.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect lured the hearing-impaired victim to her apartment on Okupe Street in Obi and had illicit sexual knowledge of her. admits her crime.
“The victim was taken to the hospital for a medical examination and Baba Police Chief CP ordered a full investigation into the incident.Once the procedure is completed, the suspect will be brought to court for prosecution. “
