It’s a Big Lie – Ekweremadu Denies Arrest by EFCC

Senator Ike Ekweremadu, former Deputy President of the Senate, has denied as false the story that he was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), telling his followers that there was nothing to worry about.
According to the senator’s Media Adviser, Uche Anichukwu, the article, like others before it, represented simply the “unholy imagination of the authors and their sponsors.”

The Senator stated on his verified Facebook account, @iamekweremadu, in a post:

“My attention has been drawn to a circulating hoax report claiming that I was arrested by the EFCC.” I would not have bothered with such nonsense if it hadn’t been for the worry expressed by my friends and supporters via phone calls and text messages.

“No such arrest occurred, and I have never been arrested by the EFCC.”

“As a result, the public should disregard this and other such hatchet reports and smear operations, as they merely represent the authors’ and their sponsors’ unholy imaginations.”
